Hello,
I've lately purchased my first MB, a friend of mine has star diagnostics, and we tried to connect and read some data from my car.
Well, we failed to do so, and he suggested that something is wrong with my obd connector. From what I could find over the internet, some cable chould be connected to pin1 on my connector so SD can connect to it, it turns out that mine pin1 is empty.
Can someone please tell me if my obd connector wiring is correct?
(or how I schould rewire it to be able to connect with SD)
here are cable colours on my connector:
1- nc
2- nc
3- green/white
4- brown
5- brown/white
6- green/white
7- blue
8- white/red
9- nc
10- nc
11 white/green
12- nc
13- nc
14- light green
15- green
16- red/green
Also, can you use a regular code scanner? If you don't have one, run down to autozone and have them hook up their scanner and see if it links up to the car. This will eliminate the obd port.
Hello.
My friends star works on other cars without aby problem. On my car it gives error (as far as i remember) "unable to connect, please check your cable". (he lives in different city so i dont see him to often)
Regular elm327 works fine, but it only scans engine, and I wanted to get error code from srs, which should be connected to pin1.
Lets back up a second is there any reason why you want to scan your car such as a light on or something? reason i ask is that when my ABS/ESP computer went bad i had huge issues using star with my car. I also had issues with my star computer and my car where i would have to restart the star machine a few times sometimes to get it to work but have never had that issue on my w211.
Yes, thre's a reason, srs light is going on and off all the time, I suspect that passenger seat occupancy sensor went bad (because when someone's on passenger seat, srs light never goes on). I wanted to confirm my diagnosis, but as it turned out pin1 on my obd connector (where srs is suppose to be) is not connected to anything. For me, best help would be similar pictures to mine, taken from post facelift w203 with the same engine as mine.
