Hello everyone , my 2004 w203 decided to "die" this morning with some faulty codes , first light sensor error and after brake fluid error . Now if i plug in the key the display will shutdown completly after a few seconds. Any ideea what can cause this ?
Might have a dead IC on your hands (sadly very expensive as you have to buy a new one)
That said you really need to get the car to a shop that has the Star system to diagnose it properly.
I once had the light sensor error (thread is on the forum somewhere). Turned out to be a failed voltage regulator. I would start by looking there, or possibly the battery.
I still think your battery is bad and as slammer111 says... you've probably got a bad voltage regulator. Put a fresh battery in there and see what you get. If it works, then you need to verify the voltage regulator is not a problem.
The baterry is 4 years old [old enough i think].That voltage is with the car off as the car wont start for 3 days .Getting a new baterry today to test it.Thanks
Yes, UB is the real-time battery voltage for the car. 13-14V or so when the engine is running is normal, and 12-13V when engine is off. 8.7V is insanely low. Does your car even crank with that voltage?
