just changed the oil

I just changed the oil on my c320. I got the Griot's Garage oil sucker. It sucked out 8 quarts of oil. No mess. Really easy to use. Filter from dealer at 10 bucks with O rings. Total cost me around 60 bucks with oil. Mobil 1 Synthetic 0w-40 European formula. Same stuff benz uses.

Oh, almost forgot, I got the special oil wrench from ZDMAK.com. They have the OEM one that benz uses. Makesure you have a 22mm Socket to turn it though.

Since both of our vehicles uses the same 320 motor, I just bought a Topsider oil extractor, 4 Mann filters, and the oil wrench tool from the dealer. It has 2 set screws on the side to hold down the filter if it slips. I tried the the plastic oil wrench from Checker and WalMart but both of them kept on "stripping".

Haven't tried changing the oil yet...................

My wrench does not have any set screws on it and fits perfectly over the filter housing. I got mine from ZDMAK tools. They are OEM for Benz.

As long as it fits snug, you will not have any problems with stripping since you have a metal wrench.

Aren't your oil changes covered during the warranty?

My 1999 ML is not covered under the warranty. But I plan to change the oil on my 04 C right after the break-in period. I had the car for almost 4 weeks and it only has 312 miles!

I do mine at 5 grand intervals and the free one at 10 grand. I did not reset my service interval counter.

Yeah...maybe I'll take her for a spin this weekend.

Sunman: On the 5k interval oil change, are you still putting in synthetic?
