Another dumb move ..."why does Kompressor not allow me to do this" part 2
Aight check this out ...
I was going down a narrow road with a friend... we're about 500 feet away from the traffic light, perhaps even more, it was equivalent to about 2 blocks long... anyway my friend said you'll never make it right as the traffic light turned yellow, so I book it, I reached well over 100 mph, i pass the traffic light just as it turned red (maybe half a second after).... right as I pass the light to cross the intersection I hit a bump ...it sent the car INTO THE AIR... we were off the ground literally ....my friend is yelling while we're suspended for that second as we landed [hard] the car starts swerving like a *****, almost into a parked car so I pull heavy to the left so now we almost hit the fence/wall, so I pull heavy to the right and finally stop at 90 degree angle from the curb .....SICKKKKKK ...but I'll never do it again!
Well that's my adventure @ 3:30am
BTW, Butterfly Effect sucks.

Have 'flown' the C over a particular intersection near the house many times. . . no particular problems.
I agree with tifosiv122, wheel wasn't straight upon landing, or you were turning slightly before launch. Either way, it's not the car's fault.

....and to think, the potential loss of life, damage to the car, and yes...even this thread.....could have all been avoided if you had simply applied the brake instead of the gas pedal.

Thanks, Mom!
You shoulda hit the NAWS - that woulda been off the hook. Sounds like a deleted scene from F&F, but I'm assuming your friend is no Michelle Rodriguez.
Hey, any bout of stupidity that doesn't get anyone killed or in jail is a good one to me.

I'm an EMT and just this week had the coroner's jury ruling on a teen drag racing call during one of my shifts in December.
One of the cars racing had a head-on accident at about 120 with a third car.
The passenger in the worst car, a 19 y.o. guy, was burned beyond recognition - just skeletal remains. The 18 y.o. driver of that car is being charged with recless homicide and aggravated reckless driving and will likely spend the prime years of his life in prison for killing his friend.
I don't mean to bring anyone down - all I'm saying is: Please think it through first!

Not that I am particularly nice to my car, but this is rediculas.
Yet another reason we have all grown to appreciate Impressor. Ouch, what were you thinking?

Can I seriously recommend, that this year, you take me up on at least a few of my posts regarding Autocrossing, HPDEs, or DRIVING SCHOOL.
You want to do this stuff to your car, at least do it where the only people you could hurt are yourself, and other willing participants who have signed releases.
There are many benefits to these activities;
A. You'll really learn how to drive, i.e., not over correcting
B. You'll get whatever the bug up your **** for doing stupid things to your car out in a semi-controled environment.
C. You may very well be an excellent driver somewhere in there, this would bring it out, and you'd be less likely to kill people or your car.
Reasons you really have no excuse.
A. Entry fees for autocross are minimal, $25 - $40 for the day.
B. You meet the requirements, Lic., car., etc. (unless the car is technically unfit by this point)
C. They'll loan you a helmet.
D. YOU NEED THE DISCIPLIN!!!!!!!!!!!
A friendof mine's brother was recently killed in Brooklyn by SOMEONE JUST LIKE YOU doing the SAME ***** YOU DO. Please stop. It really isn't cool. Your judgement sucks.

Impressor, take nuk's advice. Try autocrossing for your driving thrills. You'll learn a lot about your car and improve your driving skills.

I've done some stupid **** in my younger days too, but nothing like this. If you're on a street with a traffic light, then that means there are cross streets. This is not the place to be going 100 mph. What if the light had changed sooner? You would have had no chance of stopping the car and would be flying through an intersection that could have cars crossing your path, even if it is 3:30 AM. I think it might be time to finally grow up.

Well I apologized to her a million times. The night was perfect up until that little incident. She was trembling but she had a seatbelt, that's good. I didn't.
Anyway, I have learned yet another lesson so maybe it's for the best. You live and you learn.

I think the stories of vraa's flying Avalon are going to much more funny than Impressor's puddle jumping Benz....
