Fogs on with Auto Lamps?

Fogs on with Auto Lamps?
Is there a computer programming mod to enable the fog lamps with the auto lamps? I know that they are normally turned on via the switch and pulled out one stop. However, they are also used as lighting when exiting the vehicle without any switch intervention, which tells me that there might be a way to reprogram it and "make" them come on with the autolamps....????

Thanks Lynn. Don't understand why they didn't make the switch so that it could be pulled out one click while also in the auto mode??? Kinda dumb.......
Reminds me of a friends 2003 Eddie Bauer Explorer...same exact switch....Ford changed it in 2004 so that it could be pulled out while in the autolamp mode.
But since on my 2004 C230K, it appears that the fogs are not totally controlled via that switch, there has to be a programming mod to make them come on with the autolamps. For example, when exiting the car, the fogs are on for 15 seconds.....all done without the switch being turned on and pulled out!

Because some countries and states in the US there are laws regarding the use of fog lamps. So if they were on in Auto mode the Europeans would be moaning and groaning and some states would do the same. And when they do this a ticket and money are involved. Fog lamps are to be used in fog, not any damn time you want them on. And contary to popular belief no HP gains or style points are gained by using your gog lamps when it is not foggy out there. Same as using your horn any damn time you want, there are laws that state that a horn is to be used for warning purposes only, Watertown, NY has this law and they can and will ticket you for using it just to be an ***. So to answer your question, due to European Driving Laws regarding the use of fog lamps, there is most likely no setting to change this and there most likely will never be one. Remember not only are Euro cars built to satisfy all countries laws and regulations but they also strictly adhere to the Euro ones since that is where they build them.

Oh don't get me wrong, I used to do it with my 1986 Escort Pony 4 speed with aftermarket cheap *** fog lights and when I was 17 just like everyone else. But this is not a 1986 Escort Pony, it is a darn luxury car. I could care less either way, I know the car looks pretty cool with them all lit up, but the question was why does it not do it. And the answer is because it is the law to use them in fog, and no other time. So therefore no auto fogs. I have asked myself the question as well though and assume the answer is, that if you want them on then turn your lamps to on and pull. Why is it that some American Made Cars only allow the fogs when the lights are on and not in parking light position? Same answer about laws. Now the Benz will allow them on with parking lamps only. So your guess about that one is as good as mine. I assume it is because if you have them on and need them then your lights should be on as well. When in all honesty it is easier to see in heavy snow with the fogs and parking lamps only.
