C230 Sport Coup + 2006 W164 ML350 + 99 Ford Escort (What the heck, it gets 38 mpg!)
Click Click Click Click

I seem to be getting a Click Click Click Click noise, which has
gotten progressively louder.
I can't quite get under the car all the way to see what's going on,
but jacked up the rear, and wigglled the wheel, and it feels loose, like the
driveshaft is loose and there some clunking coming from where it attaches
the the transmission.

I was told by a dealer some 4 years ago I had a cracked rear
flex disk, but this seems to be more like at the trans.

Anyone else deal with this?
I see Flex Disk kits on MB parts sites for upwards of $200 but the actual flext disk seems to only be about 55 if you have the right part # which appears to be 2104110415 which MSRP's out at $75 though those part # are not listed on the EPC.
The Kit which I guess includes the bolts. Woo!

Anyone had experience with this, loose bolts, bad flex disks, or other reasons why the drive shaft might be in contact with the heat shield?
Won't know exactly what I'm dealing with till I get it up in the air.

but we come to you for answers..

Anyway did you lift it up to take a look at the flex disk? How did you know the driveshaft is touching the heatshield?

Sorry don't have the answer, may be someone else will chime in

Flex discs (on my car, there are 2 discs, one on each end of the drive shaft) and center support bearing can make noises. When you grab the drive shaft and try to twist and pull side to side, is there any play?
