Volume going CRAZY!

What might be the cause of my stereo volume going crazy (volume jumping up and down) everytime the bass pounds?
I had the Bose audiopilot mic and the speed sensing volume (dunno wut its called) turned off yesterday but still the volume goes nuts!
According to Circuit City, it has something to do with the amp (800watts subs amp) drawing more power (i really dunno wut he's talking about). They want to change the whole Bose system (MB Orig. parts- speakers and amp) as a problem solver.
Fact is... I dont want to change the Bose sound system in my car, I just wanted it to kick more bass.

Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I read here (maybe elsewhere) that there was some confusion about the Bose mic and how to shut it off. It sounds like the same problem other were having. Yours might still be active.

The BOSE mic cannot be shut off. You have to disconnect it. Please on here as this issue has been covered numerous times.
