last question on doing timing chain
Why nobody changing the gears or sprockets especially when they are getting worn down. I know they are ridiculously expensive but so is a blown valve train.
I have been thinking about doin my but the cost doesnt justify it. If I decide do it and have a mechanic pull a new chain that could grind the sprockets even faster.
just thinking out loud

Under normal circumstances the sprockets should remain in good condition even with a worn chain. If the chain gets too loose then the sprocket teeth will take a beating. Unless the chain jumped and ruined them, reusing the sprockets won't be detrimental. With proper chain tension, the sprockets will be fine.
