I don't think so.. The dealer has to see if there is problem with your SRS by scanning it.. I would take it in. I would tell you to unplug you Battery for about 1/2 hour and plug it back in, but i don't think that's going to solve the problem.

SRS
A mechanic once told me that SRS failure on most cars, that is not a hard failure, should heal-itself after a large # of restarts, ie 20 or so. (This may be true on GM Ford etc, dunno).
That said, on my BMW it never rehealed, and I had to take my BMW to the dealer. I imagine the MBZ is the same as BMW. Take it in, to a shop that can read the error and reset it. With the light on, the SRS is probably totally disabled, (it was in the BMW).... Don't wait long.
