set memory not working

seat memory not working

I've got one of these electric seat/steering wheel controls on my drivers seat.
When I bought the car, it didn't work.. the module under the seat was missing. I discovered the part number was , bought one and fitted it.
Everything works fine apart from the memory.

From what I understand, you press the M button for a couple of seconds to store a position. then to change to a different stored position, you select a different number (1,2,3), then press and hold that same button in.

the wing mirrors seem to change between stored positions, but the seat doesn't.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for that!
Ok, so the door has to be open for the memory to work?! how odd.

Door has to be open if the key is not in the ignition, so that you can move your seat before getting in. Especially useful if someone small was in the car before you.

ah, I mis-read. I thought it said key in AND door open.

In that case I've already tried that..

Key in
Setup seat +mirror position
select position 1,2 or 3
press M, then press the 1,2,3 button.

I've done this for the three memory slots, and used different seat/mirror positions for each.

When I try to recall the position by selecting 1,2 or 3 and pressing in the button, it only moves the mirrors to the position I set.

what is strange is the convenience feature of retracting the seat+steering wheel works, and puts them back in the last position when you put the key in. So the memory is partly working!

By chance did you ever have the door control module replaced? I was curious and looking through DAS and remembered that you can change the adaptations for memory seats and mirrors. Technically you could have mirrors activated and not seats and maybe that would explain your situation?? Just another thought.
