Cool feature with the door and windows..

I bet all of you know this, but i found this out today. Was playing with my C320 loaner, and i noticed that when i hold down the unlock button and aiming it at my doorhandle when the car car is locked, that it made all my windows windows comes down and sunroof open. I thoght that was pretty damn cool... i didnt know that when i had my old c320. Man i miss that car, anyway the hard part is closing the windows, sometimes they close half way and i cant figure out how to get them up again.. i wish my ML had that kind of stuff.

MB and BMW both had this feature since 97 as far as I can remember. The only difference is that for the BMWs you have to use the real key and turn it and hold it when you lock the door. For the late infared key MBs all you do is point the key at the little square on the door handle and hold on the lock button and it'll close all the windows.

Another feature for the new MBs is that you can press and hold the air recirculation button and it will close all the window while you can driving. thanks to AndyC32 for telling me this.

edit: Audi/VW also have this feature which works like the BMWs where you have to insert the key into the keyhole on the door.

Our 1989 and 1990 E's had them...just with the key not the remote.

THe NA Vw/audis dont have the remote fob lowering feature, just the key like you said, but if you have a VAGCOM tool, you can reset it to do just about anything you want. Lower windows with the fob, beep the horn once, no beep, lights flahs, no flash, etc...pretty cool what you can do with that tool.

I didn't say infared remote lowering for the VW or Audi...sorry if I wasn't clear enough.

for BMW you can lower the window by remote, but to raise it you'll have to insert the key.

for VW/Audi you'll have to use the key to raise or lower the window.

It isn't laser, just regular infrared LED.

Yeah ML doesnt have it, my ML is possibly the cheapest thing when it comes to neat features, only cool thing about it is how the MCS flips down and up. Other than that, its whack.

My Sequoia has power folding mirrors and the ability to open & close the front windows & sunroof when you keep the key in the driver's door turned.

Sorry, I just had to chime in

While I have your attention, if anyone knows where I can find a socket (a.k.a lamp holder) for a #73 (a.k.a #74 and #2721(W1.2W)) 12v automotive bulb, PLEASE give me a heads up
The local auto supply stores don't seem to carry it.

thanks
Jim
