Window stickers
Sorry if this isnt directly related to C-Class in general, but i dont want to venture into a new forum where i dont know the people. FWIW, the stickers would be GOING on my Coupe
Anyway, im a college kid, and I have to put an ugly parking sticker on the inside of my windshield for each semester. Now these stickers do not come off very well, in my last car there was tons of residue left over from the old sticker. I really don't want to mar up my new Benz with an ugly brown sticker in the window, and my only consolation would be knowing that I could remove it easily as soon as it'd no longer useful. So, anyone have any creative ways to remove stickers cleanly, or a special way to put them on in the first place so they come off more easily in the end? May be kind of a silly question, but, they're such an eyesore!

If you haven't already put it on, you may be able to get away with just leaving it on your dash every time you park. My parking permit won't fit on my mirror, so I just throw it up on the dash... I've never had a problem.

If it is one of those stickers that has the clear cover over it, just use scotch tape to attach it to the window. You will have to replace the tape a couple of times over the period but in the end glass cleaner takes off anything left by the tape, no problem.

i laminated my parking pass. So it's clear , doesn't stick, and, most importantly, no ugly sticker on my windshield . Added bonus, is that i can use it in different cars too. Just ask the parking attendents if they care or not. The guys at my place could care less.

The EASIEST way to remove adhesive residue is with good 'ole WD40. Spray it on, let it sit for a few seconds, and it wipes right off. Use window cleaner to remove the WD40 after.

I have to have two large parking passes at work about the size of an index card each. I laminated them and they stand up pretty well in the window.

or else u can stick the sticker on some kind of stiff paper such as a index card and stick it in your window when u want it, and when u dont, take it away.
By the way WD40 is the best bet for taking stickers off when your done with that use windex or something similar.

This is the easiest way to remove stickers. Trust me I know. Hehe. Just burn it! Should come off really easy. I usually use a razor blade but when that doesnt work I just burn it.

Just a thought here, but what if you have tinting? Is there any way to remove a sticker from a window that has tinting? At a company I used to work for, we had to put a sticker on the side window (inside facing out). I don't have that problem now, but with this discussion it got me thinking. My first reaction would be NOT to attach it, but if I did, would there be a way to remove it without damaging the tint?

Hi,
Trust me on this one. Like some other people have mentioned, a static plastic film is sold.
Go to an arts supply store and ask for a plastic film that can be attached to glass. I bought a large sheet (a yard by a yard) about ten years ago for maybe $10 and still have some left. I have used it for my college stickers, my parking passes, etc. The best feeling is when you just pull the sticker right off in about a second. No mess.
By the way, when you put the sticker with film on, have the glass somewhat wet. Then force out the air bubbles. Looks great.
Best regards,
CP
