Poor radio reception

Is there a standard protocol within MB for handling this kind of problem?
The Best of Mercedes & AMG
When you get bad reception, have somebody in the back seat push on the headliner just above the rear window. That's where the radio antenna is located, it's glued to the top of the rear window. If the reception improves when you push on it, you need a new radio antenna assembly.
i have this new fangled thing, called a cdchanger
personally i am convinced there are only 3 radio stations in philly:
1. the all nickleback/shakira/n'sync/pink station
2. a country western station
3. and news/sports station
XM/sirius is the only thing that can save radio

If it's tinted, metallic based tints can mess it up.
Or am i just full of it.
Actually, can't tint increase radio reception. It creates a greater surface area in which radio waves can be induced from.

Try this on for size:

Yep definitely full of it
But I understand how you got that idea. I don't know why, it's just a fact.
My tint is metallized, but it's a "dark gray" look, not the 100% metal, mirror-look reflective kind (like on an RX300). I wonder if that's the distinction?
i have a 2001 c240, my car is a grey import, no warranties, and no mb dealer in my area. it has been produced in germany in 2000, one of the very first c class.
my stereo has perfect AM and FM band reception, my problem is that i cannot lock/unlock my door unless i point my key to the infrared window on the drivers door handle. otherwise, the keyless entry does not work from any distance, or position. note: my keys have fresh batteries and my car has been like this since it was brandnew.
i hve bcome confused on reading tons of posts of related topics. other ppl say i need to have my keys replaced, others say the rear glass is the problem, others the antenna amplifier......(mb here cannot even point to me the error# in my star diagnostic sheet....probably there was no error at all w/c appeared in d test)
i hve tried to press the headliner but to no avail...... when i switch on my lights though, the red taillights blink whenever i press my key, as if the signal is received but not processed by the cars lock/unlock computer module. i dunno why d red ones blink and not d turn signals, they only flash though whenever i press the key, unlike the turn signals w/c flash once or thrice dpending whether lock or unlock was pressed.
btw, my rear glass has d small external antenna too for d cellular phone.

service bulletin for the sedans (I don't know about the coupes).
I believe the issue had to do with paint getting on the ground
contacts of the radio/amplifier.
