Car starts and dies a second later
lo everyone, this is my first post hopefully someone here can give some pointers about what could be the issue. I own a 2003 C240 and the title says it all starts and dies a second later, I have already changed the Mass airflow sensor and the crank shaft positioning sensor and still nothing..any ideas what it could be?

Out Of Control!!
Diagnostics for your symptoms without faults is difficult and not simply change this or that--you have wasted your time and money---I would start by testing fuel pressure\system---do you have the test equipment---if no then wada you going to do!!

Yep, check fuel pressure. Then go from there.
If you don't have the tools to check fuel pressure, the hacky way to do it is take off the rear seat, take off the metal covers to the fuel pump, and tap the top of the fuel pump with a rubber mallet while cranking. If the pump is bad, this will usually 'shock' the pump into working temporarily.

So are you getting fuel pressure? Could be sending unit other side of tank.
Of course you replaced the filter yes? Also hose can pop off
when you install new pump, best to put an oil resistant tie wrap on it,
Mine popped off after a few days. So it worked for while, and then had to reopen tank to
reattach hose as described.

How many miles? Mine went at 200K along with the water pump, though not at the same time.
I'd invest in a genuine pump, not a job you want to do twice.
Not a hard job, but slightly dangerous. Do it with the windows open in a well ventilated area.
I'd say use a fan, but no electric applliances nearby!
I'd keep a fire extinguisher handy, and if you have a water heater where you are working, turn
it off, extingish the pilot if it has one, and shut off the breaker. If you are
stuck doing this on the street like I was, get someone to run interference to keep the
dumass choking smokers awaaaaay!!!! Wear clothes that won't cause any static, and
touch anything metal in the car to ground yourself before you do anything just be certain
you won't create a spark.
And say a hail mary before you start. 🙏
As Daffy Duck once said, "I can only do this trick once!"
