Does anyone know whether a Sport C230 rear exhaust will fit an '07 C280?
Looking to go to the chrome dual tips coming straight out the back, but EPC shows a different P/N front exhaust pipe on the C230 vs C280. Are the attaching flanges connecting the front and rear exhuast sections the same and in identical location between C230 and C280? Any leads would be greatly appreciated, as I would prefer not to buy the C230 rear section/muffler only to have to return it and worse yet if I didn't find out until after dis-assembly.
Without seeing the 280 I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes. I did the same thing on my C320 but had to make an adapter side the two pipe diameters were slightly different. Both your car and the donor car have the same engine type so I'd assume the pipe diameter would be the same and be a direct bolt on for you.
Thanks for the input and picture. Is that where you spliced the pipes together between the rear muffler and resonator? I thought the sections went together in front of the resonator.
Oh no that connection I made is way uglier. I still need to redo it with new rings- I had used the two original old ones that were a tad rusty, putting them together with some exhaust sealant since I was in a rush that night and one of them has since split a little and caused an exhaust leak, I plan on picking up two new ones and welding a bead around them.
