must-have options

I'm about to place my C320 Coupe order and though I'm considering a relative "stripper", I'm especially interested in the upgrade to Xenon lights. Do they make that much of a difference?

Also, any Black Opal owners out there? I haven't seen any full-size and it's hard to imagine the entire car when looking at a paint chip.

Xenon lights does make a very big difference.
It makes the car more attractive and more sporty looking.
It also gives u a better image on the roads ahead.
Especially when we have the new Bi-xenon clear lenses now.
Bi-xenon gives u high beam in xenon light as well. Enjoy ur new car.

Exactly what I need; at 35, I seem to be losing some of my night vision.

Thanks!

load it as much as you can

I got my wife an '04 230k sedan black opal, love the color, best color IMO and not too many around. Bixenon option is a must, we went all out with full leather, rear seat package, confort package, sunroof package, navigation(nl).

The only options I passed on were heated seats (Don't need them in California), phone kit, tele-aid.

Enjoy

Out the door

Thanks, for the compliment.

Out the door price was 37k (including tax, lic), negotiated the price a bit below invoice from Cutter Motors in Santa Barbara.

I am still not wanting/willing to trade my 3er coupe just yet, looking to see what the 4series coupe will look like or maybe the C in 2007.

C320 Sport Coupe

Congrats on your choice. I think Black Opal is the most uderrated color in the palette. Looks great in person but it is hard to capture in photos. Bi-Xenons are a must. I would also want Panorma Roof. Also, if an 05 go for the Harmon Kardon sound. If it is anything like the E-Class, it will be worth it. How about 6 speed!!

Thanks all. Bi-Xenon it is! I'll have to find out from the dealer when MB is switching over production to the '05 models; I'm finding remarkably little information on the redesign short of what's found on this site. That'll determine if I opt for a premium sound system (I haven't been too impressed with the Bose).

MY05 Premium Sound - harmon/kardon

Go for the harmon/kardon sound. The system is similar to that in the E-Class which is far superior to the Bose system. You should be able to find an E-Class at the dealer to test the h/k soundsystem.

Bi xenons a definate, if your getting a 320 the it will come with the climatcontrol, but if not get that too. I would also get the navigation, it comes in handy.

On the 05 they have the option of a panorama roof?

I got everything except Nav and the Phone.... This way I have no regrets what so ever and got everything I wanted. My wife told me to get what I wanted so I would be happier about my purchase. Not to leave something out to save 10 or 20 bucks a month.

bi xenons, panaromic roof, and the sport package (if they still have it, and you do not intend to mod your car)

you can get nicer aftermarket leather at abt $1000

Fitchfan, How did you go with selecting your options. Interested to know if you were happy with the choices yo made and what they were?

Well, my situation changed when I heard about the '05 update for the C Class; I'm patiently waiting for more information. I'm guessing we'll all know more after the NY Auto Show.

If Mercedes has made the changes to the car that have been described in another thread, I'm even more enamoured! Meanwhile, I have the opportunity to reconsider the quality issues. A C coupe is exactly what I want in terms of a package, but, having been used to Japenese quality and reliability for so long, I have to weigh the potential for the car being a PIA against, uh, being in love...
