For a while when I was in park and turned the wheel all the way to either side the idle would change. Also when making U turns to tight the car would go into limp mode and get stuck in 2nd.

Now the steering gets stiff at low rpms like 1500 and less as if I had no serpentine belt. But If I rev the engine it will free up. While reving the engine and turning the wheel the pump makes noise.

I did a flush yesterday morning. I removed fluid, added some, then ran the car and turned the steering wheel to both sides a couple times. Then I would shut it off and do all the steps over again until the fluid came out clear again because it was BLACK.

Is there anyway to be sure its the pump or is there anyway to save it ?
I already bought one from Orielly's it should be here in 3 days.
