Air intake hose split/cracked

Air intake hose split/cracked
Hello everyone. I noticed that the right passenger side engine air intake hose on my car(2002 c320) is almost split in half and about to fall apart. It's one of those plastic ones. The part number is A 203 528 00 07. I have a few questions.
Will it cause any damage to the car if i don't get fixed soon? Also, do both sides need to replaced at the same time? I don't know much about cars. So, i think it's better to have a mechanic take a look at it, if it's something that needs to replaced right away. How much should the part cost including labour?
Might try to replace it myself, if it's easy. If someone has a link to a DIY for this issue. Could you please post it.

No, it won't cause any damage.
You can just replace the one that's split if the other is fine.
Just google the part number and compare the prices.
The part that goes toward the front of the car has holes on top/bottom that hook to the support (see pic). All you have to do is carefully pry them off the hooks and the hose will come off.

Probably one of the easiest DIYs you can do. I just replaced them both on our C32 and was surprised to find how cheap they were. About $14 each. Good luck Jack!

Thank you VVF and johnhef for helping me out. I really appreciate it. Replacing the air intake hose will be much more easier for me now. I will try to find one for a good price.
