m111 Secondary Air Injection Check Valve
Has anyone ever used a secondary air injection check valve from another vehicle on the m111 or other MB with success? The one for this car is around $75 or so but I see plenty of them that look exactly the same for under $20, including one I found for only $12. The only obvious difference I can see just by looking is possibly the thread pitch and diameter, but if I could find one that would actually thread in or at least adapt to fit, I wonder if it would work the same? Possible factors to be considered are pressure from the intake side and exhaust side but mainly intake, as it's a one way valve. These pressures shouldn't be anything more than any other turbo charged or supercharged car and may even be irrelevant as long as the bypass valve is working properly. Any other considerations that I may not have considered?
And speaking of the bypass valve, the m111 unit looks very much like the bypass valve (OEM blow-off valve) on the 87-91 turbo Supra. In fact, it's almost identical, and both are made by Denso. Something else I mean to check into...
