starting issue

hello there well I need help with my w203 c200k elegance, I drove it previous day all was ok and the next day when I try to unlock it wont do so unless I point the key to the sensor on drivers door I got in I put the key in the ignition I turn it all the lights and warnings illuminate as normal but fuel gauge wont raise and I parked it with half tank fuel than I tried to start it the engine cranks but wont start and my service is still 7000km away and the car has less then 95k km on the clock what could be the issue please help

Have you tested your battery? That's what I would check first. Also the battery connections.

no it is not the battery because all other things work it cranks the engine good just the engine wont fire up and i dont understand why its fuel gauge wont raise because i parked it with half tank of fuel

other things i noticed is it will not lock o unlock from any distance bt only when i point it to the sensor on the door and when im inside the interior light dont work fuel gauge is on strike fuel cap is locked and the towing button light wont stop flashing

The battery in the key remote may be going flat thats why you have to get close or point it at the car.

well out of all things you could think of, as I was loading it onto a trailer I noticed water dripping from the front LHS I didn't take note I towed the car to a guy that was recommended to me by a friend I towed the car about 350km and when I got there we checked all fuses and all was ok then I recommended to check where the leak was coming from we removed the battery to find a pool of water blocked and to our surprise wiring was damaged some of the wiring was rotten the guy did his thing quick fix and the car started so now I have to buy wiring and all will be ok and I might sell the car unfortunately thank you guys hope tis will be helpful to others
