2005 C230K shakes when accelerating
My 2005 C230K shakes when accelerating. The car currently has 137,500 miles, the engine was replaced with a new/used engine at 107,000 miles. When I shift into drive and start to accelerate, the car starts shaking, especially when it shifts into second and higher gears. This issue seems to have onset suddenly, right after I got a new rear brake job (including new rear rotors) and all four tires replaced at the same exact service job, although I don't know how either of those jobs could cause this issue. The service visit before that, I also had the transmission serviced including tranny new filter and fluid, and the electrical sensor on the tranny. Other than a rattling noise coming from the timing chain tensioner (which was NOT replaced with the new/used engine), the car was running fine before this last service visit. The vibration is especially transmitted into the steering column, the shift lever, and the general area under the front transmission tunnel/radio.
The same car had a broken engine mount in the past, and this definitely doesn't seem like that. It's not the new rotors warping either, I know how that feels. I think it is somewhere in the driveline. Could a broken or missing tranny mount be the problem? What about the torque converter or bad gear linkage in the transmission? Could being on the lift during the tires/rear brakes job have caused something to misalign in the driveline? Please help!
Thanks,
Brent
