Folding Mirros

Hello,

I have a 2005 C180K with no folding mirrors. I am planning to buy the folding mirrors of ebay and i was wondering if the wiring is there and if it's just plug and play. I look on install the following:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Mercedes-w...cAAOSwHjNWAtEc

Will this be ok? Do i need any additional wiring?

Thank you

MB Workshop Instructions (WIS) has 3 different articles for "Retrofit outside folding mirrors":

1. Cars with code 249 (automatically dimming rearview and outside mirror
2. Cars with code 275 memory package (seats, mirrors, steering column)
3. Rest of the cars

Step 1 requires 1 new door control module, step 3 requires 2 new modules according to WIS. Also coding with STAR is required in each of them!

Articles in WIS:
AN88.70-P-0001PA (option 1)
AN88.70-P-0001PB (option 2)
AN88.70-P-0001PC (option 3)

It is almost plug&play sort of stuff but you need STAR + the right part numbers for the modules. The code for this option is "500b"

Edit: Did a little digging and it seems you could buy modules for option 249+275+500 even you do not have the memory seats etc. I was looking at the car for sale with only folding mirrors, but no memory package, and EPC gives this as the control module information when I entered this cars VIN to EPC.

Good luck

Thank you for your response.
Can you give me links to the articles and explain what the options 249+275+500 are?

Thank you!

You dont need. Assuming you have WIS, open the documents I gave and you will know why.

I know Americans dont have W203's with folding mirrors, but in here theres plenty of them without any memory seat -options. Can even give you VINs if you dont believe

The numbers are option codes. 500b is the code for folding mirror option which you want to retrofit. I described earlier what different option numbers means, and what measures have to be taken if your car has any of those.

The articles are in Mercedes Benz Workshop Instructions WIS

On my 2005 C230 Sport Sedan, I retrofitted the folding mirrors and I do not have memory seats. You just need to get the door control modules (DCM) that go to memory seats

So it's just plug and play with the module? Would this work on American/Canadian models? It'd be pretty cool to have folding mirrors on my 2003 c320
