Rear engine coolant sensor replacement

2006 C230 Sport.
Engine diagram shows engine coolant sensor behind the left engine cylinders. I can not see it.
Has anyone replaced an engine coolant sensor mounted on the rear of the engine?
Can it be replaced from the top side or do I have to get underneath the car?
Any insight would be appreciated.

From the top, and if I remember correctly, I didn't even drain the coolant BUT, you gotta be quick to plug the hole when you remove the old sensor and then pop the new one in. Some coolant will spill out but if you put a towel down should be good. Here's the video you should have googled

Thanks for the reply! I have seen a video on YouTube for replacing the one on a 2004 C series, but on the 2006 C 230 it is on the opposite end of the engine behind the left cylinder bank. I can't see it from above. I am wondering if it's possible to replace it from above. I live in a townhouse and don't have much space to work. I have been able to fix many items as long as it can be done without getting under the car

Did you ever figure out how to put it in?
