audio 30 APS to comand 2.0 ?
I did a lot of retrofitings to my C32 including factory alarm system, so messing up with wires is not a problem, just need to have a clue about the retrofit
Thanks in advance
To be totally honest, I went with the command because I wanted to keep everything stock looking but have found myself regretting not upgrading to a newer unit (i.e. a Pioneer/Kenwood or something along those lines).
You sure every wirings was just plug&play?
The AUX wire is not big problem i think, i must see if the 320 have aux in the glovebox, if not i will buy the correct one and add it to the new 2.0 unit
I think i will need the plastic holder to accommodate the 2.0?
I'm also fan of the OEM look and for that reason want to add 2.0 yes it's useless here because there are no maps available for my country... But it looks better than any aftermarket headunit or the audio 30 APS
The connectors on the back of the command are A, B, C1, C2, D2B, Antenna, FM diverse and GPS antenna.
You need an adapter to go from the C connector to C1 & C2, and you need a GPS antenna with appropriate connector. Everything else is plug and play, and with the correct C->C1/C2 adapter that is plug and play too.
Some Mercedes come with a GPS antenna installed in the rear of the car (passenger side pillar?) so in that case you would run co-ax cable from there up to the front of the car (along the side of the foot wells) up to the command. Mine didn't have the factory GPS antenna so I bought a stand alone and placed it up front under the dash. The first GPS antenna I bought mucked up the connector on the command unit and I had to send it to Midwest Audio (I believe) to have the connector replaced. I think I even had to do that twice because the person I bought the antenna from insisted it wasn't the antenna connector's fault (bought from a place in New York who does audio installs on Mercedes and is/was on this forum). I bought one from EBay and it worked like a charm.
For the aux input in the glove box I bought a harness with 'pin sockets' at one end and the 1/8" audio jack assembly (i.e. mounting stuff for the glove box) at the other end. I had to find the correct connector in the side of the passenger foot well and insert the pin sockets into the female part of that connector, then run the harness up to the glove box.
I do understand everything is plug and play with appropriate C>C1,C2 adapter.
I will not need to search can bus etc?
However i'm not sure which adapter to buy, this oem adaptor harness A2035400909 since my car is euro and probably isn't pre wired for the AUX input.
Or buy this non oem adapter and find another way to fit the aux lead

What adapter do you used?
Thank you
The aux audio adapter had pins like shown in your picture, which I had to insert into a connector down along the passenger door sill
They were separate cable assemblies if I recall correctly.
