Rear Window Replacement

I accidentally broke my rear window last week when I was on vacation. My phone charger got slammed between where the trunk lid and the glass meet, which shattered the whole window.

I've purchased a replacement window from a local automotive recycling place but there is something different about this window than my original. This one has a small antenna at the top center. My original window didn't. Can the antenna be removed?

This is for a '07 C350 Sport.

Damn that sucks. Must've been quite a large phone charger.

The glass comes in 2 forms. I always thought the ones with the antenna hole are for the post-facelift 2005-2007 models, but maybe it's different between sedans and coupes. The antenna can of course be removed, but now there will be a hole in the glass. Why not just keep the antenna and use it if possible?

I don't think there is a hole in the glass. I have been looking into removing mine and from what I can find it is just glued on.

I will take a closer look at it tonight and let you know if I find anything constructive. I'm waiting on payday to purchase the moulding and will have the window installed next week.

The reason I want to remove it is that I think it looks better without it. The reason I don't think it would be usable is because since my old window didn't have it, and I haven't lost any signal strength in the radio, I'm assuming my antenna is not located there. Not sure if this matters for antenna radio placement, but I have the harmon kardon/navigation/xm package.

One thing I'm also considering is to tint the window myself while it is loose... any thoughts?

I ended up going to see my girl instead of going home last night, so I didn't look at it, however I found this thread:
https://mbworld.org/forums/c-class-w...ease-help.html

I am going to remove it.

When replaced / replacing can you PLEASE post some detail shots of the seal, weather stripping and any other rubber/plastic elements on exterior perimeters? I am debating running an Infiniti Sirius antenna and would love to "know" if I can safely and confidently begin tucking the wire under the flap I see...thanks!

Hood grille, back deck, etc. not working here to well and I am not drilling a hole...

I'm not sure that I understand what you are doing but my window is being installed today and I don't have the car. (My gf is driving it to the autoglass shop while I'm at work)
It is my understanding from the installer that the moulding that surrounds the glass is purely cosmetic.

Understood.
Looks to be a completely glued in unit.
I was looking for confirmation it is okay to stuff a non OEM wire under that channel.

After SIRIUS antennas in the rear deck, hood and hood vent cutting out - I am going with a Infiniti/Nissan unit that looks "good" on the roof. I machined the curry FAKRA clip to fit...would have been just as easy to disassemble a blue Fakra and re-install...

I am not going OEM Mercedes and cutting a hole in the trunk, or roof as I have seen through the back interior light.

Thanks, I'll up load an image to round out the thread. I am not trying to steal your thread.

Sorry...still not trying to hack thread

Here is what I mean. Cell flash makes my car look very dirty and dusty, yikes! Here is OEM INFINITI antenna, the window seam where I feel and see a little rubber flap. I HAVE tucked the SIRIUSXM antenna in this channel already. Also is a

picture of the curry Fakra end I machined to fit blue.

Infiniti instruction

Here is the question; does our w203 allow me to tuck the wire within a flap like this? Seems so...but our seam is very tight and rolling it under the roof to side cap trim is seems almost impossible...

How did it turn out? Who did the install?
Is the radio antenna working and are the keys able to lock and unlock from a decent distance, like over 10 feet?

W203 sedan front window replacement

Hello. A couple of hours ago, I found my driver side front left window vandalized & shader, fortunately, nothing else appears damaged or missing. In doing research here and looking in eBay New and Used OEM parts, I see that there two types of mounting points, a 'U' bracket and the other with 2 holes through the glass. How do I determine before taking the panel off later in the week, which one I have? and what tint do I have? It appear to be a light green? The car is a 2005 C320 sedan Brilliant Silver/ Black interior, built date 05/05/2004.
I got this info from the right side door glass and I'm not sure what any of it means? Thanks, your help would be much appreciated.

I don't think you meant too, but you are hijacking a thread. Just start a new thread on your own and ask your questions about your driver's window.

I did not mean to highjack this tread, I thought it was OK since it was related to w203 windows. Thanks for your reply and advice, I will start one.
