Hey rlee02135, I wish I consulted you before I made my purchase - it seems like you know a lot about upgrades and stuff. I'm a little nervous because I just ordered some from eBay, before seeking advice. I ordered the AMG tips (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...pagenameZWDVW), and I want to weld them on my 2003 C320; just from your own knowledge how much will this cost? And can the tips really fall off?

Secondly, what's just occured to me (sadly) is that I might have to do modifications to my bumper (I don't have an AMG Styled bumper), therefore, will the tips fit? And if not, how much work will my bumper need?

Any good muffler shop can weld it on. I cant see it costing more than 100 bucks on the high side.

If the tip doesnt fit, you will know when you line it up before welding, you might be able to trim the bumper a little. It cuts pretty easy. Just make sure you do it carefully so it looks clean.

Hey Vivid,

Thanks! $100 seems okay. Do you (or anybody) have any idea how much the trimming of the bumper will cost? (Or was $100 all inclusive?). I'll have to go around asking for recommendations shops in New York, so I get someone who will trim the bumper extremely well - I know I'd like to eventually add the AMG Bumper, but for it should still have a clean look.

Ah great, I don't feel so worried now.

Mercedes is gone physically, but still in my heart.
Honestly, save your money and keep the stock bumper as long as when they trim the bumper it looks fine. The AMG rear bumper is not much different, and if you have the exhaust tips you should be fine.

FYI - beware of Performance Products. They're OK if the order goes smoothly (ordered from them many times ... until ...). However, if you ever want to return something and get your money back, good luck. After sending something back and then getting 2 months of "we'll credit your card today", I finally called the credit card company and had them deal with it. Believe it or not (I'm NOT making this up), the credit card people all ready knew about Performance Products because of other people having the same problem with them! I haven't ordered from them since. NOT trying to vendor bash, just relating personal experience. Plus, you can find anything they have somewhere else and almost certainly cheaper.

The tips won't fit? Even if I trim the rear bumper?

Only to his credit he did mention that I may need to trim the exsisting exhuast; I'm hoping all this was cost-effective to not buying the whole C32 muffler. I guess it depends on welding.

C240Style - I know what you mean about the AMG rear bumper, but here's the thing - I certainly want the AMG Front Bumper and I'm wonder will the car look right with just the front bumper and no side skirts/rockets, and rear bumper--?

Anybody ever tried these tips? They are ebay tips but not the usual schatz type. They seem as though they wouldn't look as bad from the side but i'm not sure.

I know the dealer doesn't sell just the tips, atleast here they don't. I just wanted an opinion on these tips as i haven't seen them on any of the cars on here before. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...88492836QQrdZ1

Yes, Mercedes-Benz doesn't offer the tips for sale.

I haven't seen or used those tips, but they looks 'cheap' to be polite. I'd go with these:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Merce...QQcmdZViewItem

I ordered them and I'm in the process of installing them (now that I got the AMG bodykit; AMG rear bumper needed). These are the tips from the 2007 C-Class Sport or C32. You need to weld these on and they'll be no chance of them falling off on the highway!

I'd just go ahead with a C32 muffler before i got those. I just didn't want to end up having to get a new rear bumper. I don't want to put too much into the car since it's about to hit 90k. I've got the AMG front bumper but i'm not sure if i want to go ahead and get the rear.

those are Japanese replicas. AMG doesn't just sell tips.
Ask that eBay seller what the AMG Part # is for those tips ?????

They are replicas but they are 'exactly' the same as the AMG tips. I've studied the AMG tips on the 2007 and they are almost precisely the same thing. Same dimensions, same everything.

I didn't want to bother with a C32 muffler because I was told "watch out for old mufflers" ... I don't know what that means but that's what I was told. Plus, my car is pretty new (30K miles) new so I don't want to throw away my muffler (still new) and start using old parts. And if not for those reason, it's cheaper!
