Does anyone know how to actually do this?
that's exactly where oil ends up if it leaks badly enough from the cam solenoids.Scott, have you slid out the plastic lock from the second connector? Should be like the one on first picture, but on the opposite side. If I recall correctly, it was very easy to detach both of these.
The second pic appears to be telling how to disassemble the connector itself, once it's already out.
