If I remove the supercharger, what else should I do while I'm there?

The $12 hose needs replacing. Indy suggested replacing all 3 crankcase hoses, which would entail taking out the intake manifold and supercharger. I'm on the fence b/c I think it'll be too hard (no DIY for supercharger removal) But in the slim chance I do all 3 what else can I do once the supercharger is out? Replace the driver side engine mount? Rear main seal? What?

Scott,

Although my reply is based more on logic than intimate knowledge of the vehicle, if I were you and I intended to keep the car for a long time, I would probably look at replacing high wear parts.
I am thinking bearings, tensioner, serpentine belt, alternator brushes (VR), maybe aging hoses, that kind of stuff. Depending on budget and skill, water pump, AC clutch/bearings, you get the picture.

It's all in the pocket and how long you expect to have the car.
I personally am more reactive than proactive and will wait for my parts to give signs of failure, even though it means more time to remove stuff to get to it when it eventually fails.

Replace the belt tensioner, as has been mentioned...it's notorious for getting noisy and can only be replaced with the SC removed. Others to consider: oil filter housing gasket+oil cooler gasket, and that plastic coolant hose behind the cyl head...

Thanks!
I'm also removing my SC and changing the SC oil. I didn't know about those gaskets or that coolant hose.

Good idea for coolant hose behind cyl head ( close to firewall) , this plastic hose get brittle with all that heat in there and it cracks over time and you'll get small coolant leak over time. Also on the other side of eng similar plastic hose coolant rail, mine was leaking.

I've written up a Supercharger removal thread and which covers the hose and the belt tensioner.

D.I.Y belt tensioner

You should check you engine mounts while down there and also check and torn hoses. Any problems with removal just hit me up!

Also check any attachments on the thread It may help
