Hi, I am posting for the first time. I have benefitted in the past form posts in this forum. Very grateful. I am busy changing the alternator on my 16 year old Merc C180, 2000 model W203. Had a very stressful return trip from the Drakensburg in South Africa due to the annunciator indicating alternator not charging, but managed to limp home after a few battery charges by very helpful people. I am changing a couple of radiator hoses while I am about it. Can I use the same coolant mixture to refill and top up with 50 / 50 mixture, or should I change it all?

As long as you use the proper anti-freeze as suggested by MB for your car/engine, just add a 50/50 to top off the anti-freeze. You can flush the old stuff out if you want, or leave it in.
