Offsetting tire size front and rear

I want to purchase a set of tires with the front being 205 55 R16 and the rear 225 50 R16. My question is how will this effect the 4matic awd system? Will it cause any issues? Handling?

Those tyre sizes have the same rolling-radius so the fwd will be fine.
Do you have the correct rim sizes :

Front : 7J X 16H2
Rear : 8J X 16H2

What size tires do you guys recommend that will fit on 2005 c320 4matic? I just bought the vehicle recently and don't know much about it yet. I just want to make sure I replace the tires correctly and have the best handling and performance.

Maybe get the tire sizes that the manufacture suggested?

Different people have their preferences.
Personally, for the snow, it makes zero sense to me why anybody would want anything other than a Blizzak tire. But, many people put cost over their safety. What ever!
For a Summer Only Ultra/Max/Whatever Performance tire, I like a tire like the Bridgestone RE050 RFT. Btw, those tires are also a great way to kill yourself when used on the highway in temperatures below ~45F. :O
They have a wear rating 140. LMAO! And, people wonder why I go through tires quickly on my Stang. I mentioned in another thread, it's not a good idea to run performance tires with low tread, if you want traction/grip from the tires. So, at ~$200 each with an extremely low wear rating, they are not a cheap tire to use.

Fwiw, when I do change my tires on my C230, I won't be going to that level of a performance tire. Imho, tires with great grip are awesome, but you still need a car/suspension that can make use of those tires. Also, my C230 gets driven in rain (but not snow). So, I need a tire that can also handle the rain. My Stang is a good weather only car.

My preference for all season tires varies depending on what I see as the best new tire that fits my needs.
