Alternator Battery warning light on Merc C180 Kompressor
Hi Everyone
2 weeks ago i got the Alternator / Battery light warning on the dash.
Next day it went out and al worked okay for a couple of days
When it came on a second time i booked it in my local garage and had a new Bosch Alternator fitted ... all was fine for 4 days .
Over the weekend the warnings went crazy Alternator battery warning followed by Light Sensor warning followed by ESP warning and Auto gearbox stuck in 1st gear . parked the car on drive and next day the battery is totally flat cant even open the doors with the remote...
Bearing in mind the weather is getting cold do you think this is a case of a bad battery.or a wiring issue?
Please help if you can

Upate on this subject
Today i found the battery flat, and when measuring the voltage to the battery from the alternator its sending over 16 volts to the battery.
Mechanic has been out and the car has been towed to the garage , as he says it cannot be driven
Not looking good

Update
Good news from the garage today...
They fitted another new alternator and the voltage is now reading 14.2V
All the crazy warning lights have stopped coming on .
I was worried that it could have blown out my SAM module and fried my battery but all seems fine at the moment ... Fingers crossed

So i now have the car back and all seems well
Can anyone tell me if theres any chance that either a bad battery or a bad wiring problem could have caused a brand new alternator to fail.?
The original mercedes battery is still on the car which is 12 years old now.
So i am replacing the battery tomorrow just to be on the safe side

How many CCA does it put out currently?
It probably fried the alternator.
