misfire

i stepped on the gas and the check engine light went on..the car then went into a limp mode. i went to the dealer and they said that i had a misfire and that the computer had fixed the problem itself because it was a self learning computer. 2 days later i stepped on the gas again and it did the same thing again..has anyone had a similar problem

Take it back to the dealer and tell them it's running poorer than a 1975 Pinto and you expect them to repair the problem forthwith.

No car goes into limp mode unless there is some underlying problem.

I had the same issue with my old Audi A6. It was bad spark plug cables. Replaced and ran smooth as glass.....
but leaked oil like a collander....which is why I sold the %$#@&!

Thumbs down misfire

Update: our 2002 C 230 K, which had a breakdown 15 months ago due to coil failures, had two more fail recently (it did not result in another breakdown though). These were changed today. I hope these don't become a regular maintenance item. Actually, who cares, the car has another 62 months of full warranty. As long as it doesn't break down this summer when we drive across Canada and back...

So maybe you have coil pack issues too.
