Thanks for the words.

Maybe I'm mistaking turbo lag for a high first gear - the C230K leaps forward when you punch it, the Volvo takes about 0.5sec to get going, even though it's lighter.

I have just come back from a little highway driving, and this car has got some oomph!

Raymond--
you may already have figured it out, but to achieve the best take-off with your Volvo 2.4T, you shouldn't "floor" the gas pedal right away , but "feather" it instead - when you feel that the tranny has shifted to the 2-nd - then floor it (my other car is a Volvo S70GLT with the same light pressure turbo). The notorious turbo lag is always there, but "feathering" helps minimize its effect.

Yes, the 5 cylinder has a really unique characteristic.

I'm once again amused by the MB & Volvo combinations among the users!
