odometer reverse

Hey all,

I found this on the "other" site:

Simple way to roll back the odometer on the w203 w/o being detected:

-On an open parking lot (flat surface)
a. Turn steering wheel to full lock left
b. start car , go forward in 3 complete rotations.
c. turn off ingitiion. Wait a full 60 seconds and restart
d. leaving wheel at full lock left, engage R and back up 5 complete rotations (slowly). This engages the roll back function.
e. Continue in reverse: After this point every full 360 rotation will remove app. 110 miles from the odometer. Be advised: the odometer will not display the reduction yet...
f. To reveal/display the rolled back odometer reading the car must be driven forward for at least 5 continuous miles.
This really worked on my '01 c240!

I just rolled my odometer back from 51059 kms to 49754 kms (got dizzy.. and people started looking at me funny ). Just remember to keep records so you won't forget the proper oil change interval!

Have fun!

BTW, this forum does NOT advocate doing this illegal procedure...it's FYI only! Do at your own risk!

K Car
This is cool! I tried this at lunch and removed about 500 miles! I didn't think it was going to work, but after driving in reverse in circles, and then driving normally about 3 miles, it just dropped! This weekend I'm going to remove a few thousand.....

I can assure you this is an April Fools joke. The odometer data is stored in the instrument cluster and EIS, no rollback function exists, unlike an '89 Chrysler Fifth Avenue my mother had. I rolled the odometer back everytime I snuck it out late at night, Ferris Bueller-style.

To borrow a quote from the Blues Brothers: "It's got a cop motor: a 3.5 liter High Output. It's got cop tires, cop suspension, cop shocks. What do you say, is this the new Bluesmobile, or what?"

Thanks for the welcome, by the way.

Audi's, a whole bunch of them
apperently there really is a way to roll back KM"S...i went to an MB dealer..some guy was returning an off lease...4 yr old car..with only 36,000 kms...the only thing was he must have not known that MB dealers share the same computer system and that he had already been in for service A & B at another dealership with the KM's recorded...at the last oil change the MB service tech told me his km's was 115,000kms...so that is proof that there really is a way ...just maybe not this one...that guy happend to be a new proud owner of a 4 year old s-class with rolled back kms since MB Canada wouldn't take it back...so there is the proof that there really is a way...now if i could only find out how..

how do you spell L-O-S-E-R....
