Help: Driver-side head-rest adjustment problem . . .
. . . I noticed this morning when I was adjusting my head-rest for the first time that the button does not actually work. I "assume" this is a defect, right? I do not think I bought the C230K option to have a nonadjustable driver's side head rest.
Apparently, both seats will drop the head rest when the seats are moved forward to allow people in the back. However, only the passenger-side head-rest will actually go down when the button is pressed when the seat is in the normal position.
This is a defect, right??????

P.S. How do the local guys repair something like this. Seems you would have to remove the leather. Ouch.

It's probably either a bad switch or a bad headrest motor. If it's the switch, the door panel gets taken off. If it a headrest motor, the back cover of the seat gets removed.

A quick update:
I stopped by Mercedes to pick up my documentation for registration. One of the sales guys said, yes, there was a defect in the mechanism.
Gee, "another" trip to the service department next week.

Had the exact same problem with my driver's seat. The switch in fact was defective and replaced and now the switch works and the headrest will drop automatically when the seat is tilted forward. It's the switch that's bad.

When you mention "switch", is that a feature of the power package? I don't have that, but on the driver side, when I move the seat forward, the headreast gets stuck on the ceiling, and I have a hard time getting it unstuck. That's embarrassing! Is there something broken, or am I doing something wrong? It should be automatic & intuitive, not requiring any special trickery to make it work right?
