Will i need spacers????
I'm about to change my ride's rims. Nowadays i have OEM 16" rims and i'm buying a set of Borbet A in 17". Front rims are 7" wide and rear ones are 8.5". My question is, will i need spacers? The car is not slammed, but lowered with Eibach Pro springs.
Thanks in advance!
at. include the offset and the tire sizes you plan to use. that is, if what you
are concerned about is to prevent the tire from rubbing any part of your
suspension. also critical is whether you have performed (or planned) any
modifications to your suspension as this may affect clearance issues.
your factory wheels should be around 35mm or so. if you look at the back of
your current wheels it should be marked as "ETxx"
an ET (or offset) of the wheels you are looking to buy are so low that they will
extend outwards from the center of the car almost 15mm than that of your
current, factory wheels and design. this means that there is the possibility
that your wheel/fender arch will make contact with the tire.
spacers are designed to push the wheel out, horizontally, from the center of
the vehicle so, no. you do not need spacers.
hoping these will help you in future selections

yes or no. the reason is that you've lowered your suspension so you're
changing the equation even more than just basing it on the stock ride height.
this means that you're beginning to approach the limits of what you can do...
and how much you're willing to gamble.
the wheel calculators will narrow down your choices and give you some sense
of what your new wheels and tires will allow...as well as how much room you
have to play with.
just take your current tire and wheel specs and plug them into the calculators.
do the same for the offset to see how much further in/out the offset will be
shifted with your new wheels.
only you can extrapolate from these figures and gauge them against how much
your car has been lowered and how much clearance you have to play with
factors which bear in terms of wheel/tire selection are
wheel size
wheel offset
tire size (also, tires with same size numbers vary between manufacturers)
springs design
spring preload
spring pads
