Help with the radio, please.

Hello all,

I have been reading so many threads about the stock radio to update with Bluetooth that my head is spinning.

So, here is what I have.

2005 C320 4MATIC with Harmen Cardon. No aux plug in glove box and Bluetooth puck or mount in center console. I do have a 6 disc cd changer in the glove box.

What I want is the ability to make hands free phone calls through the car radio AND to stream my music from my iPhone 7 with the steering wheel controls.

How can I do this without spending $1,000?

I already tried an aftermarket head unit but since the system is fiber optic it would require extensive wiring. I also do not wish to use a frequency radio thing either.

please help! Thanks.

I have the same problem, I want to upgrade my stereo, but they say they will have to rewire
others say, It is hard to find a harness for it. and then some of your speakers still may not work
I buy the double din stereo about a year ago and have not install it.
Make no sense to pay all that money and loose some sound

I have a 2005 C320, If any help will be very appreciated.

To connect to the speakers with an aftermarket radio is really easy. If you don't have the HK system the speaker wires are connected directly to the oem head unit. If you have the HK system like the OP then all you have to do is run a speaker wiring harness from the radio to the rear passengers side trunk. The amp is behind the carpeting there and all you have to do is unplug the harness from the amp then tap the new wires into the existing wires. If you don't cut the wires you have the option of hooking the original radio and amp back up by just plugging in the harness to the amp again.

The fiber optics is just for the radio, CD changer and amp to talk to each other but not for any sound.

I believe all HK units are prewired for the 3.5 headphone jack aux plug to be connected on the passenger side floor. You would just have to buy the harness. The ones without the plug would need to buy a longer one and connect to the oem head unit I believe.

There are many threads about getting the steering wheel controls to work so wont get into that as I dont know first hand.

i have the HK system and i use it via BT with my command unit daily. check my other thread about the BT adapter. thing is that it only works with the OEM 30pin Ipod connector. but i get track titles on the HUD and steering wheel controls. works with calls as well.

I need help connecting an Android head unit as well.
The unit is designed for W203 and comes with all the plugs and even GPS and steering wheel adaptor. Thing is, i don't really know which plug does what.
I connected all the plugs and the radio would turn on (even when the key is out) but would turn off after a few seconds.
I can;t figure out if i connected all the plugs correctly or the issue is the unit itself. The unit was working fine in the shop.
