What is the...Where is the..."R" Button

Question What is the...Where is the..."R" Button
I just got a 2003 C230 Sport Coupe and want to reset the on board computer it says something about hold the "R" button for three seconds but where is the"R" button


whach this is porb a stupid question

Oh no it isn't. WHo would ever admit to asking a stupid questions. They probably just forgot the pictogram pointing your nose to it. Reset.

i agree...when i first got mine it took a little while to figure that one out as well. It just seems weird that they specifically refer to it as an "R" button when there is no labeling of any kind for it.

on the W210 and W208 there was the "R" on the little button.

Whether the button has a R on it or not...is not the issue....

Finding it is not the key either....

Its the patience you gotta have to find it....you gotta sit there and push every fu****n button by the speedometer till it does what you want....

Cuz you know the car can do it...Its all a matter of, not trying to pop it in reverse to quick to make sure you dont get to work late....i could give a f***LESS about a R....

Frank said it best...its just a little knob
the clk's GOT the R....the Cl's Got the R...but my 203 does not...
minor detail....

you guys are gonna make me buy a iced out R like dmx's and throw it on the knob...

Unless you've looked closely at the owner's manual and memorized it, the reset button isn't intuitively obvious. Most cars don't have computers that let you set and reset options.

Ok, so where is it?!?!
So 14 years later I just stumbled across the R button message on my dash, 2003 C240 wagon, and I read the above post and it doesn't say anything about where the button actually is. So where the heck is it?

It's right after the "Q" button, and right before the "S" button.

Or, download the pdf manual for your car (from MB), and do a search.

It's the same button used to reset the trip odometer. Hint - it's very close to the tachometer.
