2002 C230 stalls after long idle and hot outside
Hello group. I live in south Florida where it's usually 1000 degrees out lol. My coupe has only 65k miles. Wasn't driven much by the first owner. Lately I'm getting a slight rough idle when coming to a stop. But the problem is after being stuck in traffic for an hour it stalled out. After waiting about 10 minutes it fired right back up and kept driving. But now I've noticed that if the car sits and idles for maybe 20 minutes it starts to run rough and stalls. After a scan, it's coming up with the code for the catalytic converter. My question is can a bad converter cause it to stall once it becomes really hot idling?
Yes I have searched the forums and I am also aware of the crank sensor etc. but those codes do not show up when it scanned. If that's the case, there is no inspection in Florida. I will remove it and is there a cooling sensor that they sell to keep CEL off. Thanks in advance
