06' C230 Manual Transmission
This Time in a Car i am looking for
1.Realibility
2.Luxury/Comfort/Smooth & Quite Drive
3.Performace ( as you see with my G and 330i , I like performance cars)
I've narrowed down to 3 Vechicles that's for sale near me in my price range that's offers everything that I want & German engineering.
1.06 Mercedes C230 Manual Transmission 106K
2.05 BMW 330CI Zhp with M model factory upgrade model Auto 130K
3.05 Audi A4 1.8 T Auto 102K
I'm leaning toward the Mercedes with the BMW next and Audi Last based on reliability and repair cost. The Mercedes Offers better Interior than the BMW and Audi, and I'm interested in the Mercedes because it's a Manual alone.
What I want to Know is:
Are there Any Known Problems with This specific model in Manual Transmission?and any other problems I may face.

For a MB, there are a GIZZION BILLION TRILLION engine options for EVERY model for EVERY year. MB sells in MANY countries.
Imho, worry more about the engine.
The engine, the engine variation (HP, etc), and the country are all very important.

As for the Merc I though all C230 06 sport models came with standard factory 2.5L V6 producing 201HP @ 5000RPMs. ? If Im wrong, please correct me.
As for this Specific model I'm looking at Like I stated before it's a 2006 c230 Sport w/ Manual Transmission.
Once again, what I want to know is are there any problems with Mercedes in Manual Transmissions?
I've seen and driven BMW manuals but NEVER known for Mercedes to produce manual transmissions; Not saying they dont make Manual Models but it's Quite Rare if you ask me.
Oh and BTW I'm in US if that makes a difference.

A non updated balance shaft can go after 5 miles, or after 1 million miles. It's like playing the lottery. You loose, you pay ~$8K+ for a repair.
Do a google search to find a webpage that has the engines numbers with the balance shaft upgrade. Do a VIN search (on this site) to find out the engine number.
As far as I know, no general problems with the manual trannys in the W203 C230s.
Btw, I have an M271 engine. MB made a lot of variations through out the world with that engine. The US versions had the higher PSI supercharger. This causes oil build up on the intake valves (like all superchargers). The higher PSI supercharger means more buildup. The US M271 version gets enough build up to cause misfires. Many ways to deal with that issue. The correct way is to replace/rebuild the head. Then, to prevent further buildup, go with a dual catch-can system. That's what I did. I'm planning on keeping my car for many many years.
Good Luck.
