ESP ABS BAS Fault

ESP ABS BAS Fault
Hey, do really need some help here 
Sold my old c180 2001 modell w203 a couple days ago. But today the buyer called me and said the car had gone in to limp mode, and he got fault codes on SRS ESP and BAS.
He had washed the engine (just with a dry towel accordingly to him) and he touched the ESP module in the washing process, and all of a sudden the pressure pump started making noises and the ESP box got all warm, he had to kill it by disconnecting the plus pole.
My first thought is there is a short circuit somewhere, anyone experienced this before???
I'm sorry if this is discussed before, but don't really have the time right now to the research.
