Mercedes' quality up! (Better than Nissan, Acura, and most domestic brands)

JD Power: Other nameplates reporting significant initial quality improvement in 2004 include: Honda (23%), HUMMER (23%), Land Rover (22%), Jaguar (20%) and Mercedes-Benz (20%).
Great jump from 2003:

If you compare the two, you will see Lexus has more problems per 100 cars then they did in 2003.
I really think Mercedes is going to be what it used to.

The IQS refers to only problems in the very first few days of ownership. Many, many of the European cars have electrical gremlins that can appear early on, but often crop up much further down the road. ( Pun intended.)
Wake me up when Mercedes cracks the Top Ten in the Long Term (5-year) survey. On second thought, considering how long I suspect that will take, just let me Rest In Peace.

How is it that
Buick is # 5,
Olds is # 13,
Chev is # 16,
Poncho is # 20.
I would think these should be closely grouped. These are all GMs and use pretty much the same parts vendors. (Some spicing up on the upper end lines) Furthermore, I would suspect that GM has similar shop quality standards across their facilities, and in some cases they build the different lines in the same facility.
How does Porsche go from like 6th or something to third last place in 1 year??????
These studies are a bunch of B.S.
