Quick wheel fitment question

My car is a 2006 C230 Sport. I am about to order these CLK wheels but just need to be 100% sure they’ll fit. I’ve done several searches and everyone is always checking to see if AMG CLK wheels will fit but these are just the standard ones. Offsets look good at 40 in the front and 34 in the rear. Seller says they will only fit the CLK so I probably won’t be able to return them if they don’t fit. Also want to make sure they will not look strange because of the different offfset (only a few millimeters I think). Here’s a link to them. I’d appreciate the help especially if anyone else has done this before, thanks.

Didn't you sport come with 17" rims in a staggered set up?

Bought the car with 18” E-class wheels and spacers. I like the OEM wheels better and don’t want spacers or to have to pay nearly $1000 for a set of tires...

My guess as that as long as you use the stock size tires, you should be fine.
Imho, my guess is that the rims are "decent". My guess is that the finish on the rims isn't anywhere as good as MB OEM.
Depending on the planned use of the car, that may not be any issue.

Some interesting things. The rims/wheels are $102 on Amazon, another rim lists for $140 - 40% more.
On Ebay, he sells the rims for $120.
He sources the rims from 10 different suppliers. So, the cheapest is the one that he likely buys from.
However, no where, does he state that the rims meet OEM specs, or any specs.
The site only lists Benz 2003, 2004, and 2005 CLK. Makes me think that the main source is a cheap China supplier.

(RedGray comment) So, imho, the seller seems like an established and respectable seller.

Thanks for the abundance of information. I will take it all into consideration. I think buying 17’s will be cheaper in the long run, just need to find a decent set of them. Once again, thanks RedGray.

I'm glad I could help. It takes me only a little timer to do the above. It takes a lot longer to copy and past the info.

Fwiw, for those rims, my concerns, in order, would be:

1) How long will the finish last?
In New England, and salt and snow, I doubt the finish would last more than a few years. But, my C230 has never been driven in snow, and I don't have any plans to ever drive it in the snow.
Still, how will the finish look in 8+ years? Is that even a concern??

2) How much the bead would be damaged by changing tires. For my C230, when I do the tires and rims, it'll get tires like my Stang, ultra performance Summer only, pure performance, and very low tread life. For the miles that I'll be driving the C230, the tires will still last 3-6 years.

3) Potential damage from pot-holes/etc. Imho, the chance that you'd damage that rim verses not damaging an OEM rim in hitting a pothole/etc is low. Most of the times that a rim is damaged, the impact would damage even the best rims.

I see those rims like the cheaper generic parts people buy at Autozone - it's fine for normal use, ~~2-6 years, and ~~30K-50K miles.
Those parts do have a place, and do make sense for some people.
But, they don't make sense for someone like me. I keep my cars for a long time. I drive in snow, rain, etc. I drive in bumper to bumper traffic, that often goes from flooring it - to slamming on the brakes (it's called driving with the Mass-hole drivers, and the clueless people more concerned with their stupid phones verses not killing/injuring innocent people).

Mass-hole drivers
https://www.google.com/search?q=mass...ers&gws_rd=ssl

mass-hole:
1) A person from Massachusetts
2) A terrible driver
3) All of the above
Drive through Boston, and the meaning of the word will become clear.

Good Luck!

Haha, the more I read, the more these are sounding like they are for me. I think though I will hold out for some OEMs in good shape.

1. I live in Phoenix,AZ so I could probably use uncoated wheels and get away with it. Also planning on keeping the car about 5 years or so.

2. I usually just use summer tires year round and avoid going up north when there’s snow.

3. The roads out here are some of the smoothest I’ve driven on (I’m definitely spoiled by this) and I drive like a granny.

You’re really convincing me I should get those, lol.

The owner's manual will have the size and offset of the original wheels for you car, I have a 2007 C280 4matic. The "Technical Data" for the wheels is on page 404 to 406 of my manual.
I have the non-stagger set up 205/55R16 on 16x7 with a 31mm offset. The manual shows two set-up for the sport staggered 17x7.5 front and 17x8.5 rears OR 17x7.5 all around. Another
thing to remember is that MB has the parking brake in the rear hub so if you use a lug that is two long it will protrude into the parking brake mechanics and destroy them.

I would look for a complete set, and used MB vs Replicas. I picked up a set of used 2006 rims [to use with snow tires] off craigslist for 500 bucks, even had good tires on them.
