Replace door module

I have a dead right rear door module on my 02 c320 wagon. Window doesn't go up or down, lock doesn't work, no CAN communication with the right rear module, 12v and ground to the module power plug. Can I simply plug and play an identical used module off eBay or will the module need to be coded or programmed to work in my car? The part number is 203 820 66 26.
Thank you

Hmm...good question. Tried to cut and paste from this pdf and got
jibberish. Seems to indicate it's the pn number that determines the
function...? Or last sentence in the other one, seems to indicate the EIS sends coding to the unit?
At least in the sense of which is the drivers side in a right drive scenario.
This might make sense, since all that would be coded at the time the vehicle is built and coding each module individually would be kinda stupid. So maybe, when turned on it simply is given a download from the EIS otherwise known as the ECU?

I included a document on the self dimming mirror, as it shows the interplay between the
modules on Canbus.
I'm seeing these for like $15 on ebay including shipping, so definitely worth a try.
Looks like they use the same module for every door!?

Thank you for the detailed information. I found one relatively close to me for $14 shipped on ebay so I ordered that one. Worth a try I guess. I'll update once I try it.

I found a replacement DCM on ebay for $15 and it was plug and play after all. Window and door lock work are working again.

Of course? Ha, there is no 'of course' with these cars.
But yeah, cool didn't require any special coding.
It codes itself each time you turn on the car.
