ESP light and steering wheel
Hi again!!
Just had my car back from a mechanic friend of mine who has always done my cars and never had any problems - although first time he's worked on my merc.
So he has replaced a suspension spring at the front because it was snapped and also a ball joint as part of another part he swapped. on my way home I noticed the steering wheel does not sit straight anymore and is always turned slightly right when driving in a straight line.
Got home and it kicked up and error saying ESP visit workshop.
Hes going to look at it again for me to sort it, any one else had this? could it be the steering wheel is not aligned right after the work?
Thanks!

Any alignment should be able to set it straight again. After the alignment with the car in park and the engine running turn the steering wheel all the way left, all the way right then back to center and this should reset the esp. Whenever you change major front suspension components you need to get your steering aligned again. The ESP freaked out because it noticed your car was going staight while the steering wheel is turned slightly.

The ESP light seems to have gone off for the last couple of days, my mate did look at it and adjusted a track rod end he has swapped. The steering wheel still doesn't feel exactly straight but its better. I'm going to get another workshop to look into doing the tracking and stuff.

Turn the steering wheel lock to lock 3 times and then turn off the engine and wait 30 seconds. See if the problem goes away.
