Which sway bar bushing do we need??

We have a 2003 C320 4matic that needs front sway bar bushings. MB wants to sell me the whole sway bar with bushings ! Says the bushings aren't available separately. THAT CAN'T BE RIGHT. Does anyone know what the number is for the bushing that is on the car. My search show 2033230585 / or / 2033852185. The chassis is a 203.084...last 8 of VIN 3F402615 . Which bushings will fit?

That's correct, bushings are molded onto the sway bar, so you'll have to purchase the whole assembly.

C320
Measure the thickness of your sway bar then check FCP. They list the sway bar bushings by PN and diameter. I made the mistake of buying 20mm bushings for my c320 without checking the diameter and instead went by PN. Turns out my c320 has 22mm bar with replaceable bushings.

Well, at one point you could buy replacement bushings. So, there should still be parts out there.

Correct.

The catalog shows "dust gaitors" that really are just flimsy little dust covers.

Most Mercedes cars have the bushings molded to the bar. If you try to use an aftermarket bushing you will need to strip the bushings off the bar WITHOUT gouging the bar or leaving any deep scratches. Damage like that to the bar will create a weak spot that can lead to a broken bar.

OK...for the 4matic the bushing PN is 2033230585 BU that is no longer available. Dealer said the replacement part was 2033232185.... BUT I would need the correct bracket.
I ordered them and they were all wrong. Every online supplier, even those listing the 05 85 part number, end up listing the 21 85 as the replacement, it isn't. But you also need to buy brackets, which don't fit!
On his car there is no option to replace just the bushings......you have to replace the whole bar....which brings me to my next problem.
How do you replace the sway bar on a 4matic? It is buried up under frame and steering / drive parts.
Does anyone have access to a "how to" for this. It looks pretty hard if not impossible without removing a lot of "stuff"!

....you have to lift the engine and remove the motor mounts before you can get the stabilizer bar out. Just to replace 2 little rubber bushings.
I never liked 4matics and now I hate them ! Who has an engine hoist in their garage?
