Question about Comand and CD Stereo
Hi All,
I've been reading a little and can't seem to find this bit of info. On a C Class equipped with a tape player and no CD changer, If I retotfit a Comand unit, does it allow me to play audio CD's? If so does that mean that I cannot use GPS when listening to CD's? Lastly, if I am forced to get a CD changer, what units are compatible with the Comand unit. Thanks in adavance.

Due to the fibreoptic connection (dB2) you will be stuck with an MB changer.
Some peeps have claimed that it is not the best to use the command as a CD player.

You can play Audio CD's thru the COMAND, but if you do you will not be able to use the GPS as the same time. There have been some reports of premature failure of the GPS CD player due to overuse by audio CD's (if you do a search or a quick review in the audio section you will see a current thread on this topic).
If you want to play audio cd's while using the GPS, you'll need a changer and unless you go with an FM Modulated model, you'll be forced to use the MB changer (in glove box or trunk).
