very poor mpg
There no faulty codes or malfunctions. The car recently serviced. I checked the injectors and are ok. I check the EGR which is clean. The temperature reaches within 10min the 85-90 degrees Celcius and stays steady, it goes no more. No hesitation or loss of power or sluggish or throttling. The car accelerates perfectly. No oil consumption. I cleaned MAP.
When i bought the car in November, the DPF was blocked 122%. I tried to regenerate the DPF but the catalytic converter was getting too hot and was stopping the process and I could not make force regeneration. Finally, during a 4-hours driving on the motorway in January the DPF regenerated. Since then, when I start the engine (without any difficulties or delays) is illuminated the glow plug for 1 minute and then is turn off. I change the N2 glow plug but the diagnostic test says to be changed the N3 too.
The mechanic said that the car is running rich. I have a very small hole in the crankcase breather and a small hole between the block and the turbo. So that, is leaking a trivial quantity of oil (the mechanics say not worries on that)The sensors on the DPF are so solid and they cannot be removed. We broke the screw of the sensor and we welding it back into the DPF.
I get 16mpg in the town and 25mpg on the motorway. The 3 mechanics I have visited so far say that "we do not know" what causes the bad mpg.
Any ideas for this bad poor mpg, please?
