2009 Mercedes E350 (AMG Pkg.)
Key fob won't work

Bought 2009 Mercedes E350 AMG Pkg. about a year ago and everything worked great - was very proud of my car. I was recently rear ended by an uninsured driver while I was sitting at a red light, causing some damage to bumper, left exhaust pipe and muffler and deployed headrests. I sent my car to Mercedes authorized repair shop for body repairs. Headrests were reset, damage was repaired and I was given my car back to drive while they were waiting for a muffler to arrive, then those repairs will take place. The fob key worked fine after accident and before it was sent to shop - when car was returned fob key quit working - I replaced batteries and it worked, then quit working after 2 days - replaced batteries again and then quit working after a few days. Now even with new batteries in fob it won't work ------ won't lock doors, unlock doors, won't turn when in ignition or release steering wheel. I checked fob with cell phone and see light at end of fob when lock/unlock buttons pushed. Have tried numerous solutions I found online, but nothing works. HELP...............

You have two issues----not turning in ignition module and convenience features not working--------they are not interrelated-----to quickly find the faults you will need factory diagnostics---all else will be HS BS and guesses that won't deliver a solution.
