2002 c230 kompressor coupe
I am needing to replace the MAF. I have once before removed the maf, sprayed it down with the MAF cleaner, replaced back in the engine, cleared the Check engine light and drove for thousands of miles without issue.
But now, the CHeck engine light is back again. I tried doing the above, but the light came back on the next day. I think I should probably just replace the MAF altogether. I found a relatively cheap BREMI MAF from fcp euro:
https://www.fcpeuro.com/products/mer...sor-1110940148
I know the MAFs on ebay are bs, unless they were the OE Bosch, but in this case, do you think BREMI might work? Anyone's done this? They say they will take returns if it does not work out.
thanks

Former Vendor of MBWorld
The Bremi units are fantastic quality as Bremi is an OEM to other makes for certain products. VDO was the OEM for this particular part. We will absolutely accept the product back if you run in to an issue with it or are unsatisfied for any reason.

I ended up buying the bremi maf and it seems to work so far. I will report back after a few hundred miles worth of driving. But I am happy i came across fcp euro, looks like i finally found a competitively priced source for mercedes parts. Not to mention the free shipping and returns. I might be getting the transmission oil replacement kit and a few rotors soon!

Did the o2 sensor fix it? I've been dealing with the same code and cleaning/replacing the MAF did not help. I have a 2002 c230k coupe as well. Thanks.

Check all the hoses etc.
I had a few hoses that were shot coming off the piece that sits on top of the supercharger on 2002.
Also if your 02 sensors are old, replace them. They are supposed to be replaced every 100K miles.
Also, you might have a leaking intake manifold.
I never have but the R170 forum on benzworld seems to see it frequently, the real experts on the M111 engine.
I'm on my 2nd Bremi MAF and FCP Euro doesn't even carry them anymore, got mine from
RM Euro. The 1st one, the guts got blown out the side, Coulda just glued it, maybe, but it was under warranty, so
I got it replaced for free. Perhaps being a forced induction, maybe it wasn't designed to handle the pressure, but that being said
it passed smog and it's 100 bucks not 300.

I was wondering if this is the bremi one you replaced yours with : https://www.gorezsale.top/sensors-c-...30-p-9201.html
As for the O2 sensors I will have to see about getting that diagnostic tool! Seems handy. I have not even gotten halfway to 100k miles yet on my 2002 so I am not sure if the o2 sensors would need replaced yet. This code just seems like such a wide range of possibilities!
Hoping Its the MAF still... I may have to have someone test my hoses for leaks...
Thanks for your replies!

I put a bosch MAF a few years ago and still works with no issues. Sure beats paying 400+ for a genuine mercedes one which I am almost certain is a bosch part anyways since bosch makes the MAF and Throttle body, mercedes just charges double for the same part. It threw a p0171 code but it was my own mistake.. I was sea foaming the engine and i accidentally got some sea foam on the maf while spraying the throttle which ruined it.

Yeah, just bought a Bosch recirculating air valve throttle body, 350 vs. 1500 from Mercedes.
Same part.
Same part.

And then that other site,
www.gorezsale.top, they are located ...uh where?
https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=gorezsale.top
Oh yeah, China.
44 bucks for a nice counterfeit.
Like i said, RM european.Under 100K miles, not likely the 02 sensors.
